TAZ TAKES IT ALL

Tarran Mackenzie redeems his race one disappointment with a win at Silverstone to make himself the second rider to take his maiden win within the championship.
“Taz” shot from the line to lead going into copse, with race one winner Josh Elliott and Australian Jason O’Halloran slotting in behind him. However, TAG Yamaha racing team rider, Dan Linfoot, came from nowhere to carve his way through the pack to take the lead.
O’Halloran’s first round woes continued as his McAms started smoking forcing him to retire from the race. He wasn’t the only rider to not finish the race either, with Josh Brookes retiring due to a mechanical issue as well and his teammate, Scott Redding, crashing out of the race after an incident with Andrew Irwin, seeing Irwin take the long lap penalty.
As the end of the race approached, Linfoot’s stint at the front didn’t last and saw himself finish in ninth. Mackenzie took the chequered flag, ahead of Elliott and Danny Buchan. Tommy Bridewell and Luke Stapleford completed the top five.
